Düsseldorf has taken another step towards becoming the roleplaying hub of the Rhineland: The International English Library now has a collection of roleplaying books, for all members of the library to use! Becoming a member of the library is easy and very affordable at only 18 EUR a year (or 9 with qualifying discounts). The collection was ceremonially unveiled last week, followed by a Pen & Paper Evening.
This collection of English-language books contains many titles that are unavailable in German, and thus very unlikely to be found in other libraries in the region. It is a wonderful initiative to make the hobby more accessible to everyone, as roleplaying books generally tend to be on the pricey side.
The International English Library has been hosting roleplaying-related events for over a year now, with both the monthly Dungeoneer Game Master Campfire and the bi-weekly Pen & Paper Evenings, both of which can be found in the Düsselgamers Meetup Group.
With the launch of this collection, we hope to continue to see the community here thriving. The next opportunities to play some RPGs will be at the Pen & Paper Evening at the IEL on 1st July, and at the RP Jam on 11th July – for which tickets can now be booked on Eventbrite!
